It sets the optic at a lower 1/3 co-witness height, so your irons line up cleanly through the bottom of the dot window when you need a fast backup sighting solution.
The Super Precision MRO Series was developed specifically to work with the Trijicon MRO and like mounted red dot optics, and these mounts are precision machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 high strength aluminum. A single thumb nut delivers 1,400 lbs of clamp force while triple shear lugs keep the mount rock-solid on the rail, and the mount rides on a standard Picatinny rail and is finished in Type 3 anodized black.
